A lesson in reaping what you sow

[00:37:00.28] A.J.: And this is where I feel a lot of people would be a lot more circumspect with their choices on earth if they knew that, once they had passed, that they would reap the rewards; or the compensatory effects – the penalties, if you like, of what they have sown on earth. And, I feel that, while they do that in a day-to-day basis while they are on earth, many are not very sensitive to it, on earth. Whereas, in the spirit world you are forced into the sensitivity to the reaping; you will reap what you have sown on earth. And this is why it becomes such a marked time when you first pass. Because you are now reaping the direct results of what you have sown.

[00:37:49.11] Mary: Yeah. It’s even more, as you say, it’s right there : here it is. It is a point, if you will, like, it’s not a judgement point, but it’s a point where it’s time to take stock. There was the one opportunity that God gave you, with a lot of mercy, and a lot of experimentation with your free-will – what happened with that? How did you go with that? Now let’s look at what you’re going to have to deal with from that; and how you’re going to continue to use your will now.

[00:38:17.16] A.J.: Yes. Well, obviously, that then causes a person to be more circumspect after that point, as to how they use their will. And this is why it’s very interesting sometimes, talking to spirits who have passed, is that many of them have used their will quite poorly on earth; they pass into the spirit world and many of them are now quite afraid to use their will in that direction any further, which is understandable; they understand that if they use their will further in the negative direction they were using it on earth, then, obviously, there may be further negative consequences. So they no longer do that.

But they’re also then quite afraid to make any positive steps; because they don’t even know what a positive step generally is. They don’t understand that it’s all based around love; and God’s viewpoint of love. And so, they are often very afraid to make any positive steps; and for that reason many of them stay very still, and they don’t do anything. And they don’t do it because they’re afraid, that if they don’t do a positive step that might make their situation more painful and worse. And so, this is something we need to work our way through after we’ve passed, generally. And this is why many of the discussions we have with spirits are about helping them with that transition of, you know, seeing the relationship between what they did on earth; where they are now in the spirit world; and then, of course, what they could choose to do in the spirit world; and then the results that might come if they chose a more loving direction.

But it becomes more strongly known to you once you’ve passed. On earth, you can be desensitised to it; you can avoid the pain; you can blame everyone else for where you are; you can blame everyone else for your pain; you can blame your husband, your wife, your kids, your father, you know, your mother, your friends, your workmates, your companies, the Government; you can blame anybody, but in the spirit world you don’t get to do all of that. You start to realise that, actually, where I am right now is the direct result of my personal choices; and you don’t get to blame everybody anymore. And that’s a really good thing, actually; but also it’s a very, like, ‘in your face’ thing as well. Very powerful tool to help you come to some awareness and cognizance of your own responsibility.

[00:40:37.03] Mary: Mmm. And I feel we are given opportunities to recognise that responsibility all the while that we’re on earth; God’s Laws are always trying to show us : Hey, you’re using your will; hey, look at how your will’s affecting things; hey, all these things. But then, when we pass it’s an even a bigger moment, isn’t it; less deniable. Less able to make excuses.

[00:40:59.14] A.J.: You know, we can bring up many illustrations of that. For example, if you look at the issue with disease and sickness. Most people on earth blame external factors for disease and sickness; they don’t believe that it has anything to do with what their soul is in denial of feeling. And, as a result, when they pass, they start coming to terms with the fact, they have these diseases and sicknesses because of what they chose; not for any other reason. And this is a very very stark contrast to on earth; on earth, everybody on earth thinks it’s got nothing to do with what you chose, and there must be some other reason. And you can’t do that with regard to sickness and disease in the spirit world. So, if you have diseased limbs or sicknesses in the spirit world – which you can have – you will find that it’ll be very much a reflection of what you’ve chosen to do; suppression of what you’ve chosen to suppress. And so, in that process, you start to learn. ‘Ah, even on earth when I had that sickness; or I had that illness; or I had that disease, that was all the result of what I chose to suppress; it was my responsibility; my creation. And you start seeing things as your own creations rather than blaming other people for what you created.

Desire

An extract from ‘Through the Mists’ book group – chapter eight.

‘….if I just experience my desire; if I’m just humble to my desire; and I let that emotional experience even purify my desire ….if you think about it, if you really allow the experience emotionally of what you want, any fear you have around it immediately gets triggered, but also you can kind of feel if it’s a bit icky as well, can’t you? A lot of times you can. Often we shut it down and act it out because we don’t want to feel the ickiness of when it’s out of harmony with love; or when it’s in harmony with love, we don’t want to feel those terrible feelings that Fred felt : Please tell me I can do it; I can’t bear it if I can’t do it. You know, so, this experience of allowing desire really opens us up emotionally to everything, I feel. All of the error; all of the fear; and all of the beauty inside of us. And what I really felt with what Cushna was showing to Fred there is, if we are just humble to desire; and we’re humble to God’s way of the universe acting, then God will present the opportunity for our desire to be fulfilled. And in the way he deems us to be ready.

‘And my experience of that is : Yeah, I think I’m going to do a book group with twelve people in our living room. And then sixty-five of you turn up; and I go : Okay, God obviously thinks I’m ready for 65 people. (laughs) I don’t. I followed my desire and this is what came, I have to trust God on this one because I feel pretty insignificant. And you know, that was the beautiful thing, I wrote in my journal : There’s an interplay between desire and God; and patience requires humility, or it’s enabled by humility; and God sees the best time, and we only need to be ready to respond when He presents the opportunity. So this idea of having to force through the fear and make the desire happen, it’s a lack of humility, isn’t it? We will act when the opportunity is brought to us, we don’t have to push it to happen, we don’t have to be passive, we just have to be ready to respond and be humble to the feelings that are going on.’ Mary Magdelene
